FINAL MID-YEAR 2006 FUND-RAISING APPEAL
$5,000 more must be raised to reach EI’s goal of $60,000

Ecological Internet has nearly reached its mid-year fund-raising goal. We need those that made pledges but have not paid yet to get their donations in, and we need each of you to consider making a donation to the Earth at this time. Your donation is still being doubled by a matching grant — so give $100, we get $200. This is a last appeal to raise the remaining $5000 needed to ensure uninterrupted operation through the end of the year. I want to briefly review the special nature and effectiveness of Ecological Internet, while letting you know what to expect in the future.

But first I should announce the very exciting personal news that I am once again married, to my partner of nearly 17 years. Julie has been with me from the beginning — hanging posters at night in towns where rainforest logging was planned — and putting up with over a decade of graduate studies that have lead to Ecological Internet. We plan to split our time between her home Papua New Guinea and our homestead in Wisconsin (planting acres of trees and otherwise living frugally to offset carbon ;-). We are very happy with the falling back into love and marriage. Now onto business…
